Mazda cx 70 latest news
The CX-70 will be on sale from Mazda in the spring with the less expensive trim levels coming in the summer and fall.
The basic price of the three-row CX-90 is $39220 whereas the base trim level of the two-row CX-70 is $39220. This difference in base pricing can be attributed to the three-row CX-90’s offering more trim levels.
Comparing the trim levels of the 2025 CX-70 and 2024 CX-90 reveals that the two vehicles have the same overall pricing. In the end the CX-70 is really just a CX-90 with two rows.
When the pricing for the 2025 CX-90 is announced this precise price overlap could somewhat alter.
Hybrid technology
The 48-volt hybrid technology and turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine of the CX-90 are also present in the CX-70.
The Preferred Premium and Premium Plus trims of this powertrain produce 280 horsepower while the sportier S trims which start at $53825 for the S Premium produce 340 horsepower.
the CX-90
Moving up to the mid-grade $47725 Premium trim from the basic Preferred model gets 21-inch wheels instead of the base car’s 19-inch ones.
All three powertrains have all-wheel drive as standard and are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox which we occasionally found to be slow to react in the CX-90.
Later this spring the first CX-70 SUVs will be on sale. The less expensive models will follow throughout the summer and fall.
The CX-90 plug-in hybrid powertrain which combines an electric motor and a 2.5-liter gasoline engine to provide 323 horsepower is also included.
The PHEV version is limited to $55775 Premium and $58825 Premium Plus models and has just two trim options. The CX-90 Hybrid proved to be faster than the inline-six variant throughout our testing.
An onboard battery is included with both CX-70 hybrid trim levels which Mazda claims should allow for about 26 miles of electric driving between charges.
